Celebrating our Grads!

A warm greeting to all our Brant families! I am sending this to you just before I head out to our golf tournament, and after having enjoyed an amazing time celebrating our grads last night! I so enjoy these times to connect with members of our community, especially when it involves celebration.

I was very proud of our grads, as I watched the celebrations and learned more about them in our time together. It is amazing to see the ways that God has gifted them each unique with different talents and abilities, and to imagine how He is going to use them as they move on from high school into their next adventures.

Reminders:

  • We are still looking for a driver for our float next weekend in the Okotoks parade, June 18th. If you have a truck with a trailer connection, this will be sufficient to pull the float. Please let us know by Monday if you can do this. We also have a couple of spots left for younger students to ride inside the school float too.

  • Our band concert is coming up on Tuesday June 14th. Be sure to come out and see the amazing work our students have done in preparing for their performances.

  • June 21st is our field trip day. All forms have to be in by Wednesday the 15th or students cannot go (we have to submit numbers by that day). A reminder that for our Grade 5-12 students, they will need to be in chaperoned groups, so we are looking for parent volunteers to go to the zoo that day, in addition to the chaperones needed for our K-4 group at Heritage Park.

  • Exams start on June 17th and run until the 24th

  • June 28th is our final day and we will meeting at High River Baptist Church for handing out report cards and a BBQ. Please let us know your food preference and attendance using this link.

With exams almost upon us, I wanted to remind our 7-12 families of the protocols we have in place. For their exams, students will write in the gym during the morning. If students are staying at school until the bus takes them home or until they are picked up they will be in study hall preparing for their next exams. However, students may leave early for the day, they will just need to be signed out when picked up. Students may not leave with other families or students unless we have written notification 24 hours in advance giving them permission to do so.

Finally, I wanted to highlight the achievement of one of our Grade 8 students from Brant, Jude Korthuis. You may have seen this in the Western Wheel this past week, but Jude competed nationally in the Canadian Geographic competition, placing 3rd overall. This is an amazing accomplishment and we are so proud of him!

May you and your family have a most blessed weekend, and may the peace of God be upon you.

Quinn Barreth, Principal
