Happy Father's Day!

A grade 3/4 dad helping with the Skills Canada event!

Hello to all our wonderful families at Brant! I hope this weekend brings a great time of restoration and family time together and I want to extend a special blessing to all the fathers in our community. I pray you have a great Father’s Day feeling celebrated and honoured as you spend time with your family.

Well, this week began to feel like the year was wrapping up, with the beginning of exams. Students did well with the first days of tests and we appreciated all those who sent emails in advance to ensure we knew if a student was going home early and who they would be leaving with if they weren’t taking the bus. We are continuing to request a day’s notification before heading home with someone other than immediate family. Thank you for your continued support in this manner.

At the same time, our elementary students have been working hard as they wrap up their year. On Friday we actually heard the sounds of many hammers in the hands of our 3/4 class as they made birdhouses and hula hoops, courtesy of packages from Skills Canada. It was fantastic seeing the work they did under the careful supervision of the many parent volunteers who came in to help. Thank you so much!

A reminder that on Tuesday students are heading either to Heritage Park (K to 4) or the Calgary Zoo. If they are riding on the bus, remember to check whether your student’s pick up/drop off is at the Full Gospel in High River or the Petro Canada at Aldersyde.

Don’t forget all library books needed to be returned by this week. If you still have ones at home send them in right away.

Finally, I want to say how much I appreciated the understanding with the challenge we had with hot lunch this week. It was especially encouraging to see how our volunteers and students worked together to ensure everyone got a sandwich on Thursday. What was even more incredible was the fact that when it was all done, we had exactly enough buns and meat for all the sandwiches we needed. Thank you Lord!

May the peace of Christ be on you and your household this weekend.

Quinn Barreth, Principal
