Upcoming Week Off!

A warm winter greeting to all our wonderful Brant families. My email comes a little late this week, as yesterday I had the pleasure of hosting the party that was won by the Klassens in the silent auction this year. It was meant to be a skating party, but we adjusted to have games in the gym and a hot dog roast. It was a joy for Mrs. Barreth and I to spend time with the two birthday children and their friends.

Even though we lost our rink last week due to warm weather, God blessed us with an abundance of snow this week. I will freely admit that I much prefer a white covering on the land over what is visible when it all melts. It was a real joy to watch the students play in the snow and have fun with it these past days.

Our open house was well attended and again speaks to the high reputation the Brant Christian community has developed. It is exciting meeting new families who are expressing interest in our school as well as being able to speak with pride of the accomplishments of our students and what happens here every day. This open house leads us up to the opening of registration on March 1. We had a waiting list for the first time ever this year, so don’t wait to re-register your student, to ensure their spot and book their busing.

A couple of other reminders:

  • Hot lunch orders are due by Monday February 28th.

  • Flower orders were sent home this week and are due back on February 28. This is a great fundraising tool for those who plan on going to build houses next spring. All funds raised by students go to their missions fund.

  • Alberta Education Assurance surveys are going to start appearing in your mailboxes soon. This is the new name for the Accountability Pillar survey conducted by Alberta Education and is asking about the quality of education your student is receiving at Brant. This is a great way for our community to let the province know your support for Christian education, and to tell them of the work our amazing staff does. Please look for these in the mail and take some time to complete them. Thank you!

Finally, since we are off next week, I wanted to wish you all a wonderful time with your families. The staff and I appreciate all the support we receive from all of you. It is a blessing to serve you and while we are in our professional development sessions next week, we will be looking for ways that we can improve how we serve your students. God bless you!

Quinn Barreth, Principal
