Thursday Night

Hello Parents;

This coming Thursday night at the Christian Reformed Church in High River, there will be a presentation on ADHD by Dan Duncan, a specialist in this area. The event will get underway at 7:00 PM. This is being promoted in the Palliser, Foothills and Christ the Redeemer school divisions and we do anticipate a large crowd. The work for this night is being done by Rachel Nauta. She has arranged a for a corporate sponsor to cover the cost for the speaker so this is a free event. Please take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about  ADHD and how best to function with it or help a child who may be diagnosed with it.

Our plant sales (hanging baskets) is well underway. These baskets sell for $35 and come in 10" diameter pots. Students in grade 8 -12 are selling them. Some of the students are raising money to pay for their trip to the Bamfield Marine Biology Station last February while others are saving money for next year's mission trip to Tijuana. To place an order for these flowers you can contact Cathy at school or any of our high school students. See the order form here.  The last day to order is April 13. The plants will arrive on May 25.

A reminder that our spring play, Mystery at Shady Acres, will be performed on Thursday evening April 13. Miss Wolfe and her talented troupe of actors have been practicing at recess times every day. We are hoping that our choir will also be performing that evening during the intermission. Student council is now putting into place the plans for this year's talent show. It will take place on Thursday, April 27.  Encourage your children to come out and audition for this fun event. It's time to see if all that money being put into music lessons is finally paying off! All parents are encouraged to attend.

March 30 is the deadline to register your children for the 2017/18 school. I am encouraged by the number of new families we have had come by the school during the month of March. For the first time, Brant Christian may have to put some new students on a wait list for some of our grades if numbers continue to rise. We are still planning on visiting churches in High River and Okotoks in May and June and this generally creates interest in our school. We are blessed to have the support of so many parents and greatly appreciate the work that our society board does. It is encouraging to see our school grow and become better known in the area.

One final reminder for this week, our annual golf tournament has been scheduled and information has gone out. This is a highlight of the year for golfers. This year's tournament will take place on June 3 at the Nanton golf course. For more information either to play or be a sponsor you can contact the tournament organizer, Jason Doerksen, at school. To register, click here. We are looking forward to seeing many new faces out this year!

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
