Monday PD

Hello Parents;

For those of you who might be reading this late on Sunday or early Monday morning, a reminder that Brant Christian is closed Monday because of a professional development session for our teaching staff. School will start on Tuesday at the normal time and we do have school this Friday, March 17.

Thank you to all parents who were able to attend one of the two parent/teacher nights last week. It was great to be able to discuss with you the progress that your children are making. That is our last parent/teacher event for this year. The next report card will be June when the students are saying good-bye for another year. If you ever have questions or concerns though we are always happy to meet with you.

The Kindergarten open house went very well. We had 9 students in attendance. Please keep in mind that class size for kindergarten is small. If you have a young one who is kindergarten age or know of someone who was thinking of sending their child here for that class, please get in touch with us sooner than later. I do not want you placed on a wait list. We have four new potential students visiting Brant Christian on Tuesday. These are older students ranging from grade 1 - 6.

Compared to last week, the upcoming week appears uneventful. Our student's council is planning a career day for March 17. We are encouraging students to dress up in clothing that depict a wide variety of careers. Preferably one that they have an interest in. Speaking of special days, our student's council will be hosting a talent show in late April. Students will be asked to audition for the talent show so that we can showcase the finest talent at Brant Christian.

Play practices are underway for this year's Spring play, "Mystery at Shady Acres." The play will take place on Thursday, April 14 with the curtain going up at 7:00 PM. Basketball season is now over and badminton begins this week. Our senior high team will practice on Tuesdays after school from 3:45 - 5:00 and our junior high students will meet on Wednesdays. We will also try to practice on Fridays as often as possible meeting at the High River Recreation Center. Badminton players will be given more details once practices get underway.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
