No School Feb 17-26

Hello to all our Brant families! I trust you are all set for the winter break next week, as I know the students are very excited to have a couple extra days with their families at home. We are blessed as staff to have the opportunity to attend teacher’s convention on the Thursday and Friday of the break where there will be lots of things we can learn and apply back in our classrooms when we return.

Just a few reminders before we go on break:

  • Ski trip is on Friday March 3rd the week when we return. Please ensure your student is at the hill early enough to get their passes, rentals and get to their lesson on time.

  • We got clarification that the Assurance Surveys will be sent only to parents of grade 4, 7 and 10 students. This is because we now are classified as a large school. The deadline for these surveys is now March 17th, because there has been a delay in the mail outs of the survey access codes to parents. Please watch your mailboxes for this important tool to tell the government how much you value your school.

  • Flower orders are due on Feb 28th both orders and payments are due to the office. Use the bcssfees@gmail.com for etransfer payment.

  • On March 10th, the senior highs can volunteer for Mustard Seed lunch prep and/or donation sorting as preparation for the missions trip. The permission slips and information will be coming home on February 27th, when we get back from break.

Volunteering

If you have time and wish to help volunteer with our hot lunches, please use this link to sign up https://volunteersignup.org/DPBYA

We are also looking for hosts for our open house on March 2nd. Please sign up if you can help with baking or taking new families on a tour of the school https://volunteersignup.org/3K838

Thank you to all those that volunteer in so many ways at Brant.

We had a wonderful week of activities, including a trip to Vulcan for our 2 grade 5/6 floor hockey teams. They did a great job, and I appreciate Ms. Nudd heading up this activity. We also had a great dress red day on the 14th, topped off by a bubble blowing contest. The students all supported each other really well, and ultimately Tyler Dees blew away the competition for the win.

I pray you all have a wonderful break, which will renew and refresh you. May you experience God’s peace and joy whatever you do next week.

Quinn Barreth, Principal
