Mid year

Hello Parents;

The highlight of the week was our chapel on Wednesday. After Marlyn Brunning presented her challenge to our students, it was encouraging to listen to the students speak. To stand up in front of your classmates and talk openly about how you feel takes a lot of courage. It also indicates that these students feel they are in a safe environment and trust the people around them. This is what we try to provide for all of our students and it happens as a result of what the staff and students do for each other. Our chapels are held every second Wednesday and are open to all of our families. Check with the front desk for the time as we alternate between mornings and afternoons.

Although we are approaching the mid-way point of the school year, we are already planning open houses for prospective students for next year. Our preschool program, Genesis, which serves our 3 and 4 year olds, will start first with their open house happening on Friday, Feb. 3. For our High River location, the open house will occur between 10:00 - 12:00 that morning and for our Okotoks location, the open house will take place between 3:00 and 5:00 PM. Genesis meets in High River in the Alliance church and in Okotoks, we use the Alliance church there. Please let your friends know about this opportunity.

Brant Christian Open House will be on Feb. 16 from 1:00 - 8:00 and this will be for parents looking for placements in grades 1 - 12. The kindergarten open house will be held on March 8 at Brant Christian.

Reports cards for the second term will be sent home on Monday, March 6. Parent/Teacher interviews will take place on Wednesday and Thursday March 8 and 9 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Please note that this is a week earlier than what was first indicated at the start of the school year.

If you have a son/daughter going on the Bamfield Marine Biology trip in February, there is an important information night on Feb. 1 being held at the Full Gospel Church in High River at 7:00 PM.

Each year the provincial government sends out a questionnaire called the Accountability Pillar. It is very helpful to us if you take the time to show your support of your school and fill out the questionnaire.

Please continue to keep our school in your prayers. This support is very appreciated.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
