Christmas Band Concert

Hello Parents;

This Wednesday, at 7:00 PM in the High River Baptist Church, our grade 5/6 and 7-12 band will be performing along with our junior/senior high choir. We look forward to seeing you there. The concert will be over before 8 PM and we would love to have you stay and visit for a while. If you can bring some Christmas baking with you, please let Cathy know. We seldom have the opportunity to spend time together, plan now to stay and celebrate the Christmas season.

A reminder that our Christmas school play and our students in K - 4 will be performing the following week on Thursday, December 14 at Brant Christian School. We will get underway at 7 PM for the evening performance. Again, if you can bring Christmas baking for this event please contact Cathy.

It was another fun evening for our students who were able to be at the High River Santa Claus parade. We had 7 of our younger students riding in the school house and 13 of our older students walking the parade and handing out candy to the children along the route. Thank you to Jonathan Emsheimer who volunteered to pull our float. We have already started to make some special plans for our school's participation in the "Little Britches Rodeo" parade to be held in May. I will let you know the plans as we get closer to the date

This was the first Sunday of Advent, so it's official, Christmas is almost here. There is still so much to do before we send our students off for their Christmas break. Foremost, is to keep in mind the reason that we celebrate Christmas and not to get caught up in the commercial aspect that can so easily dominate this holy time of the year. Each Monday we gather in the gym to sing O Canada and to focus on our years' theme. For the month of December,  we will focus on Christmas and the religious importance of this time of year and why, as Christians, this is so significant to us.

Over the weekend some of our high school students were donating their time to raise money for our house build in Tijuana. On Saturday evening 7 of them were serving as waiter and kitchen help in Vulcan at the Evangelical church while we had volunteers helping Santa who was stationed in the Museum of the Highwood in High River. We are still looking for donations towards our goal of building two homes in Tijuana. If you would like to help the Brant Christian students achieve their goal please contact Cathy at school.

The basketball season got underway on Wednesday of last week. Our junior high boys and girls teams will be practicing at the Aldersyde Field House on Wednesdays from 4:30 - 6:00. Our grade 5/6 girls have asked if they could have a team. If anyone reading this blog would like to help coach the 5/6 girls team please call the school and speak with Kevin. These practices would take place at Brant.

As always, thank you for your continued prayers for our school. They are always needed and very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Kevin
