Students sharing the love of Christ in Vancouver...

Hello to all our wonderful Brant families!

It was a strange feeling this week as we started without 40 of our students. We were watching from afar as our missions team was experiencing the opportunity to share the gospel and spread the love of Christ in Vancouver. We were so excited to have them return this week, weary but filled with stories of what they did over their trip. We are looking forward to the testimonies that will be shared in our chapels on May 3rd (starting at 2:15) but also to the way their experience will enrich the life of our school for the remaining two months and the years to come.

Here are a few reminders for what is coming up:

  • A Nexus cell phone was found in the parking lot on Friday afternoon. Please contact Mrs. Massey if it belongs to you.

  • We still have spaces available for the Hwy 901 to Hwy 1 section of the highway clean up. We are looking for at least 5 more students to help. This is an enjoyable activity, and with enough people should only last a few hours at most. Those Grade 9-12 students who wish to participate in a missions trip are required to participate, or send a family member in their place. Please volunteer using the link in the volunteer corner below. Please have all permission forms back by Tuesday May 2nd.

  • We want to highlight student achievements! We know our students have many talents and skills, both in the classroom, within the BCS community and also in their personal lives away from Brant. Our teachers will be nominating students who show Christian leadership at school, are exemplary in the area of academics, athletics and fine arts or display other qualities to highlight. But we also want parent input! Please submit your nomination to Renae Penner at renae_97@hotmail.com and she will follow up with you.

  • As we are in sports season again, we want to remind families that students cannot leave early for a sports event and ride in another student’s vehicle to that event. Palliser’s rules do not allow for this, which is why we are so grateful to our parent volunteers for all the driving they do. We also require 24 hrs notice (the day prior) to a student being dismissed early to attend a sports event if they are not on the team.

  • May Hot Lunch - closes Monday, May 1st - order and pay at www.schoolcashonline.com

  • Our 7s and 8s head to Camp Little Red next week. Please refer to Mr D’s email this week for packing list and schedule. Also the last payment for camp is due May 1st at www.schoolcashonline.com

We also want to celebrate and cheer on our sports teams this week. 6 teams are headed to Lethbridge this weekend for badminton zones. Our rugby teams got right into it on their return, with boys and girls playing games this past Wednesday night. Watch for their upcoming games in Okotoks on May 10th. Go Eagles!

May the peace of God be with you this weekend, as we experience some warmer weather. Praise His name!
