Wonderful Christmas Concert

Hello to all our Brant families!

It has been a joy-filled week at Brant for staff and students, as we prepared for and presented the Christmas concert on Wednesday. It was a wondrous celebration of Jesus, through songs, stories and our fine arts program. I was very proud of our young students for doing such a great job of their part in the play, as I knew how much time they had spent preparing with Mrs. Nauta to do that. Thank you for all that went into making it a wonderful presentation Mrs. Nauta! Watching the bands, strings and choir perform was also fantastic, with the highlight for me being the collaboration between the strings and choir on Carol of the Bells. Congratulations to Mrs. Dees and Mr. Korthuis for such an excellent achievement from their students.

The other big news that happened this week is the filling of our rink. We were fortunate to have received a couple of loads of water from the county of Vulcan, in addition to our ongoing partnership with the Blackie Fire Department. The students enjoyed watching the tanker drop off the water during our recess on Thursday. If the weather works in our favor, we could have students skating prior to the break. We will make sure to let you know when to start sending skating equipment to school. Thank you Mr. Doerksen for all your work to make this ready for us.

Our student council has arranged a Secret Santa exchange for the classes which is taking place next week on Dec 14th. I am sure you have heard a little about this already, but if you can help your student remember their present next week, we would be very grateful. There is also a coloring contest sponsored by the student council which is being submitted the same day. I am very grateful to the hard work our council has done so far this year to provide great opportunities for our student body.

Next week we have our monthly parent council meeting and society board meeting at High River Alliance Church. If you are interested in what ideas are being discussed and how you can get involved, please join us on Tuesday, starting at 7 pm

May the joy of the season fill your home, as the peace of Christ fills your hearts. God bless you all.
