Welcome 2020

Hello Parents;

I trust that the Christmas break has been a relaxing one for you and your family. The excitement for the school as we start back on Monday will be the addition of four portable classrooms to the east of our school. The last two classrooms arrived over the Christmas break. As they are covered in road grime from their trip down from Edmonton, they do not look like much but will be a great addition to Brant Christian starting in September. Work will begin in March in cleaning them up, building a hallway to connect the four classrooms and extend our sidewalk out to the new location. This additional space will be used primarily for our high school classes as we continue to move from online learning to a more traditional teacher-taught class setting. I am excited about the potential these new portables bring to Brant Christian and very grateful to our society board in their commitment to encourage the on-going growth of our school.

January means diploma exams for our grade 12 students. Although this often creates angst among students, I am confident that our students have prepared themselves well as a result of their hard work and dedication. This month is also the start of our mission trip to Mexico. It involves 33 of our high school students and 3 chaperones. They will be departing for Tijuana on Wednesday, January 29 and returning a week later on February 5. Thank you to everyone who donated to the cost of building two houses. I am confident that by the time we arrive in Tijuana we will have met our goal of raising $22,000. I look forward to posting photos of the trip on this site as well as the Brant Christian face book page.

Later this month, all parents who have children in grades 4 - 12 will have the opportunity to fill out the annual Alberta Education school questionnaire. This form gives you the chance to let our government know how much you appreciate having a Christian school and how important it is to have choice in how your children are educated.

As we begin a new decade and year I encourage everyone associated with Brant Christian to remain faithful in your prayers for our school and committed to doing whatever you can to keep Brant strong and growing. As long as we continue to pray for God's blessing on our school and remain faithful, God will answer our prayers and allow us to grow our influence in the Foothills area.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
