Upcoming Auction Fundraiser!

Grace and peace to all our wonderful Brant families! This comes to you at the end of a good and busy week for us here. This week we officially changed seasons and with that, we have begun to see a lot of leaves blowing around on the playground, and the fields around us are nearly all harvested.

We had our first fire drill this week and the students handled it very well. These are important to practice, and even though they can be a little scary for our younger students, I was very proud of the maturity they all displayed in our first drill of the year.

A few reminders:

  • Orange shirt day will be happening on Thursday the 29th. Even though we do not have a special speaker this year, our students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt to show their awareness of the importance of reconciliation with our First Nations brothers and sisters.

  • Photo day is coming up on Thursday October 6th. Please make sure your child is dressed their best for our class and individual photos that day.

  • The hot lunch orders are available for October on the newsletter sent out by Mrs. Massey this week. Hot lunches take place on Thursday through the month, and give students a chance to have a treat for lunch. Any extra money from these lunches is used to supplement the cost of our field trips.

  • The invites have been sent out for our annual Silent Auction fundraiser. Please consider purchasing tickets to join us, and if you know anyone who can sponsor or donate items, contact the organizing committee at bcssauction2022@gmail.com. Early Bird ticket price is till October 8th.

  • Our volleyball teams have been working hard representing Brant well in the last weeks. Our senior girls played in the Three Hills tournament this past weekend, and our senior boys will head there on the weekend after a close loss in league play vs Foothills Composite this week. The Junior Boys and Girls teams both played Okotoks Junior High this past week and are playing in Vulcan this weekend. Go Eagles!

With the end of this week, we have now had 4 full weeks of classes at Brant. And how quickly a month goes! I have been most impressed with the great attitudes of our students, the way they have embraced those who are new to our community and adapting to new schedules or routines. Just as exciting has been watching our new staff working with the students, and the energy and excitement they bring.

One final good news to share with you from Ms. Goodfellow, Winston James Goodfellow was born on Wednesday night this past week. Both mom and son are healthy and we join with Mr. Kroeker and all her family in giving thanks to God for this wonderful blessing.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Amen

Quinn Barreth, Principal
