Two Months In

Hello Parents;

It is hard to believe that we are two months in to our school year. The time has passed quickly. As teachers we are getting ready to start work on the first term report cards. These will come home on November 18. The parent teacher conferences will take place on the Wednesday/Thursday, Nov. 23 - 24.

The past week was special with our scare crow/musician day and family group activity all on Thursday. Our acting Superintendent, Gerry Andrews, dropped by that day just to say hello and visit with the staff. Dr. Andrews was the superintendent of Palliser when Brant first joined. Chapel was held in the morning on Wednesday. We appreciate the participation of our high school students in chapel. They are setting a great example for our younger students as to what it means to be a leader.

Highlights for this coming week involve our athletic teams. Our senior boys play Calgary Christian on Tuesday and Oilfields High School on Thursday. Both games are away games for us. This past weekend saw both our senior high boys and girls volleyball teams at Immanuel Christian in Lethbridge. A tournament like this provides us with lots of playing opportunity over a very short period of time. This coming weekend our junior high boys team will be playing in a zone volleyball tournament in Coaldale. We wish Mr. Doerksen and his team all the best.

Of course the biggest thing this week will be our annual Silent Auction which takes place on Saturday, Nov. 5. This year is our 25th anniversary and we are thankful for God's blessing over this time period. Please contact Cathy at school for your tickets. This will be an exciting evening and you will not want to miss out on the fun.

Our high school students are fund raising for their February trip to Bamfield. They are selling Coco Brooks products. If you would like to purchase some items or get more information, call Cathy at school. Next Wednesday, November 9, our students in grades 7 - 12 will be travelling to Lethbridge to participate in a student leadership conference.

Our student choir is making good progress. They will be ready for their first performance in December. We are still in need of a pianist as Mr. Kortius is both playing and conducting by himself at this point.

The Brant Christian School Society Annual General Meeting will be held on November 16 at the Full Gospel Church at 7:00 PM. As a parent of the school you are a member and we would appreciate your attendance at this meeting.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
