Trip to the Zoo!

Dear Brant families,

As I write this, the wind is howling and the rain is pattering down. It is a wonderful thing to watch the moisture be absorbed into the soil and recall the many Biblical images of the blessing of rain. While it can be cold and unpleasant for the moment, it is a gift from God which is enriching our land.

We had much going on this week, including a K-4 trip to the zoo, from which I have a picture attached to this message. There was also pet day in kindergarten this week, the grade 9s and 6s wrote their first provincial achievement test and rugby wrapped up its season, with a zone championship, no less! And of course, jersey day, but the less I say about that the better…

Reminders:

  • Those families who intend on sending a student on the Mexico Missions trip should fill in the following sign up and submit a $100 deposit by June 1. 

  • The Little Britches parade is this Saturday in High River starting at 10am. Come on out to support the community, watch our students walk in the parade and to have some fun with the many events taking place in town!

  • When going through our parade candy, we saw much of it was stale. If you do baking and need caramels, please contact Mrs. Massey to get our supply.

  • Hire a student - many of you have spring yard work that needs doing, and we have students who are looking to raise funds for Mexico. Contact us with any opportunities you have so we can coordinate a student(s) to help you, and then make a donation to the school designated to their missions account.

  • Sports day is coming up on June 3 and we require some volunteers to help run stations. If you can help that day, please register using this link - http://volunteersignup.org/LBRFL 

  • We have our grad chapel coming up on June 6 at 1pm. This is a chance for our students to celebrate our graduates while they are still part of our school. Please let us know if you wish to attend.

With the long weekend upon us, and no forecast of snow even, I hope that you have the chance to spend time together and enjoy creation. The staff and I will be spending time Friday in professional development as we prepare for the new curriculum and the coming school year. It is a great chance for us to meet as a group and renew our focus on the weeks to come, as well as looking towards next fall. 

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
