Summer Time!

Hello Parents;

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's who might read this post. This will be the last blog of the school year. We are in the middle of our jr./sr. high exams. The last day of classes will be this Wednesday, June 23 and our closing celebration will take place on Friday, June 25 in the parking lot of the High River Baptist Church starting at 9:00 AM. I hope that all families will be able to attend as we will be asking students to come up on stage to receive their report cards and be greeted by their next grade teacher.

The exciting news that I want to share with you is to announce our enrollment for next year presently sits at 160 students. I am confident that by the time we open the doors to Brant Christian in September we could be as high as 170. This is fantastic news because as our enrollment continues to climb we will eventually get more teachers. More teachers allows us to offer more programs or to split a combined grade into 2 classes. Thank you to everyone for their effort in promoting our school. Your work is paying off.

The one area that requires our focus is the continued development of our music program. Having a strong band and choir will help us showcase our school in areas that we have had little impact. Areas such as performing in local churches, offering concerts to the general public and taking our students on band trips so that other areas of our province get to know what Brant Christian is all about. We have fantastic music instructors with Mrs. Nauta introducing our grade 1 - 4 students to music and Mr. Korthuis overseeing our junior and senior high band programs as well as directing our choir. We have so many talented students in music at Brant Christian that with full participation from these students, we would have a very impressive band program. Continue to encourage your children to get involved in music and to stay with the band program. I know that everyone would be amazed at the quality that our small, but continually growing, school could produce.

Please continue to pray for our school and our school board members over the summer. The future for Brant Christian is very promising and I know we will be amazed as to what is going to happen next year. God is blessing our school and will continue to do so if we remain faithful to Him.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."           2 Timothy 1:7

Thank you,

Kevin
