Successful Auction

Hello Parents;

Thank you to all the parents who sit on the auction committee. Your many hours of work paid off on Saturday with a very successful evening. There were 214 tickets sold and it was a very enjoyable evening. The generosity of the patrons was incredible. It was obvious that they were there to help Brant Christian School raise funds to help cover yearly expenses that would not be covered through society fees or provincial lease funding. I want to recognize all individuals and companies who donated items for both the silent and live auction, to our grade 7/8 students who acted as our table hosts, our grade 12 students who assisted with the live auction. If you are a Brant Christian parent and have not been to one of our school auctions, please plan to attend next year. The auctions are always held in early November.

The next important event on the Brant Christian calendar is the Annual General Meeting.  This will take place at the High River Baptist Church on November 15 at 7:00 PM. As a family that is attending our school, at least one adult should be in attendance to vote on important items that will come up on the operation of Brant Christian School.

The volleyball season is quickly wrapping up. Our junior high boys travelled to Cardston to play in their zone tournament. We continue to improve in the quality of our play with each passing year. The level of our competitiveness in tournament play is getting better. Both our boys and girls junior high teams will be excellent high school volleyball players.

Our senior high girls will be travelling to Pincher Creek on Monday to try and qualify for a spot in the high school zone tournament to be held in Lethbridge later in November. The girls won their first tournament last Friday at an event hosted by Highwood High School. Our senior boys have already qualified for their zone tournament and are presently ranked in third place in our zone.

Basketball is the next sport that students will be able to participate in. We are always looking for coaches. If you are interested in helping coach or know of someone who would like to coach basketball at the junior high level, please contact me. We do not run a high school program for basketball.

Please continue to keep Brant Christian in your prayers, especially for our board members as they get closer to selecting a builder for our new school and deciding on the design of the building.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
