Scarecrows and family time

It is hard to believe that we have already passed the middle of October. Although it was a short week, it was filled with plenty of events. On Wednesday the skating rink arrived. The boards will hopefully go up next week and of course the arrival of ice is weather dependent. Thank you to the grade 7/8 class for helping and to senior high students who unloaded the liner which was very heavy.

On Thursday we celebrated a dress-up day. Students were encouraged to come dressed in their best scarecrow costumes. There were several very good outfits. Our Student's Council were the judges who chose  the top 3 students from each grade level.

This afternoon was our family group activity. Our unsung heroes for October are Naomi, Ruth and Boaz. The first event was a relay race where each student had to race across the gym, answer a question from the story of Ruth and then eat a particular vegetable. Ask you child which one they had to eat. After the race, each team went outside to glean canola from the field next to the school. The students had a fun afternoon participating in the events.

We have added a television monitor to the main lobby. This will be hooked up to a laptop from which we will show pictures of students taken during family events, field trips, sports events or just everyday life at Brant.

Next Thursday and Friday is the Association of Christian Schools International teachers convention that will be held at Bearspaw Christian School in northwest. There will be no school for students on those two days.

I hope that you have a very peaceful weekend.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
