Report Card Time

Hello Parents;

First term report cards will come out on Monday. Parent/Teacher interviews will take place on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. If you have not contacted the school to book your meeting times, please do so as soon as you can. We look forward to meeting all parents over the two nights.

Last Friday our high school students attended a leadership conference in Lethbridge. The conference was designed to get students involved in their schools and communities using their ideas and energy to make a difference. At the end of the day we met to discuss how we can make changes at Brant that would benefit all students. I am looking forward as our school leaders begin to have a greater impact on our school.

This Thursday Mr. Doerksen will be taking the junior high volleyball players to their last tournament. They will be travelling to Carmangay and Barons to play. This will officially wrap up the season for volleyball. We are already making plans for next year's play and look forward to expanding the program.

Many of  you are aware that our students heading to Mexico on a mission trip at the end of January have been fund raising to cover the cost of the home they are going to build and to buy furnishings for the house. We had to raise $10,400. At this point we are about $1000 away from reaching our goals. Thank you to Pam Rodriguez for organizing a COCO Brooks fund raiser and to Lana Poulsen and her team of volunteers for the garage sale they hosted on Saturday. If you were one of the many people who purchased a brick at the auction, thank you for your support.

We held our annual general meeting last Wednesday night. Thank you to all the parents who came out to show their support of our school. At the meeting three former board members were recognized; Angela Woodley, Gord Van Hell and Mark Radvan. Each of these parents served on our board for nine years. Thank you for your commitment and service. It is also important to recognize our present board and for the work they do to make Brant Christian the school that we are.

Brant Christian will be entering our float in the High River Santa Claus Parade on December 4. We would like to have some younger students (grade 1 and younger) ride in the float and wave to the audience from the windows. Parents are welcome to ride inside as well. If you have a young son/daughter that is good at smiling and waving, please contact me.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
