Remembrance Day Ceremony

Hello Families of Brant,

What a busy week we had once again! Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, in lieu of Remembrance Day.

Brant Annual Auction
What a wonderful evening it was for all at the 50’s Theme Auction this past weekend.  Preliminary totals point to donations of almost $50,000. A big thank you goes out to Erin Niemans and all her army of parent and student auction volunteers who put in countless hours to make this evening a success. Thank you also goes out to the community of parents, extended family and friends for their very generous contributions!

Provincial Rodeo Championships
Brant can take pride in knowing they have another provincial rodeo champion.  Knox Humfrey took top place in the Chute Dogging competition in Rimbey, Alberta. You’ll see his provincial championship banner hanging up in the Brant gym in the near future.  Congrats Knox!

Volleyball
Congratulations to the Junior Varsity (Grade 10 & 11) Boys Volleyball team who won the silver medal in the Foothills Athletic Council playoffs. This past weekend, the junior boys and junior girls competed in the South Zone championships with the girls coming away with 4th place and the boys finishing.

The Senior Boys will be competing in a zone qualifier tonight (Thursday) at 6:30 at the High River Baptist Church gym against Coaldale Christian. The zone qualifier for the Senior Girls will pit our Brant girls against the girls of Coalhurst. The winners will go to the zone championships.  Go Eagles Go!

Remembrance Day Ceremony
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Major John Mahon who was our honoured guest at our Remembrance Day ceremony this past week. Staff and students were enriched by his talk about the importance of remembering the sacrifice of our veterans to gain the freedoms we enjoy today.  A special thank you goes out to John Kenney for his work in setting up the audio-video portion of the presentation and to cadets Aiden White and Kody McGee for their role in performing the military traditions.

Grad Fundraiser
Christmas is right around the corner and planning for next spring’s grad is on its way as well!  This is an exciting time for our grads and they have the opportunity to fundraise for their graduation in June. ThisPurdy’s chocolate sale is an excellent addition to the grad fundraiser, especially just before Christmas!

Hot Lunch
Just a reminder that hot lunches take place every Thursday.  Hot lunches rotate between hot dogs, taco in a bag, pizza, hamburgers, pulled pork and Subway sandwiches.  Orders for November have closed. December orders will open on November 17th on www.schoolcashonline.com.

Creation Ministries
Creation Ministries are coming to Brant on Friday, Nov 17th.  There will be three separate age-specific presentations with Grades 1-4 at 9:15, Grades 5-8 at 10:15 and Grades 9-12 at 12:30.  Parents are invited to attend.  We are asking adults to let us know if they plan to attend so we can set up the venue to accommodate the right amount of people.

Volunteer Opportunities
Although we’ve had so many parents step up to help out already, there is still room for parents to volunteer.  Use the link below to sign up for volunteer opportunities: https://www.brantchristianschool.ca/for-bcs-families/volunteer-opportunities  Thanks so much for all the volunteers who contribute in so many ways.

Parent Teacher Conferences
PTC’s are open for booking at https://brantchristianschool.schoolappointments.com.  Please see Mrs. Massey’s email from Oct. 31st for how to book.

Finally, feel free to reach out to me should you have any ideas or concerns, or just want to chat.

May God bless you as you seek to do His will,
Mr. Shain Chisholm, Principal
