Remember to Wear Orange on Wednesday

I wanted to open by saying a huge thank you to all the parents who joined us on our Corn Maze day last week. We could not have done it without you, and it was so fun spending time together! I am looking forward to our future community activities when we can have families join us again.

I trust you had a great Friday off today, and are excited for the extra day together as family, as we have started into our regular 4 day schedule. This will be even shorter next week, as Brant along with the rest of our division acknowledges Reconciliation Day, as a way to demonstrate our repentance for the actions of society which so badly hurt and killed so many Indigenous brother and sister Canadians. We will be talking about Reconciliation Day in our assembly on Monday, as well as in our different classes. Please remember, students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt on Wednesday next week, as part of our activities. We are looking forward to having a speaker early in October, who will bring a Indigenous Christian perspective to our students. Watch for more information on this in coming days.

We have had some busy days for our sports teams. This past week our Senior High girls beat NDC in 3 sets to none. Congratulations ladies! Our Senior High boys made a valiant effort against FCHS and unfortunately lost 3 sets to 1. It will be a busy weekend ahead as we have three teams playing in tournaments in Three Hills and Lethbridge. We are very excited for the start to the year for our teams and wish them all the best as they compete this weekend. Go Eagles go!!

While we have had very warm dry days so far, the further we go into fall the more likely we are to receive bad weather. Thank you for making sure students are dressed for the weather, and that they have their indoor shoes at the school. This allows students to enjoy their time during recess and to ensure our school stays nice and clean.

God bless you all this weekend!

Quinn Barreth, Principal
