Ottawa, Little Britches and more

Hello Parents;

A busy week at Brant going into the May long weekend. On Thursday we were entertained by the school band from Champion. They showed us how a small school can have a great band program. One that we will see at Brant starting this September. Remember the very important instrument rental night at the Full Gospel Church in High River at 7:00 PM on May 26.

On Saturday Brant Christian's float was entered into the Little Britches parade. Despite the rain and cool temperatures we had a great time and once again we were able get the name of our school out into the public. Thank you to Dave and Stacey for their willingness to pull the float with their antique tractor and to the 11 students who showed up to hand out candy to be our ambassadors along the parade route. Our float is entered into the Okotoks parade which takes place on June 20. We are in need of someone with a pick-up to pull the float. If you can help the school out with this need, please contact Cathy at school for more information.

The high school students who spent the week in Ottawa returned home on Saturday night. From the stories I have heard it was a fantastic time for students and chaperones. They came home with a deeper appreciation for our country but more importantly the need for Christians to be involved in the area of government. They were treated extremely well by the staff at Laurentian Center, an off-shoot of Trinity Western Unversity. The next extended high school trip will take place next January when our students will be off to Tijuana, Mexico in January to build a home for a needy family.

This school year is wrapping up very quickly. Our grad will take place on June 5. The annual golf tournament takes place on June 6. As parents you are our best resource for attracting new families to Brant. If you have friends thinking of sending their children to Brant next year it would help us if they let us know in June rather than July or August. There will be a lot of work taking place at our school over the summer. Expect to see some changes when you return in September.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
