New year, New students, New teachers!

Hello Parents;

It has been a busy summer at Brant Christian. We have had many new families join our school since we said good bye in June. God has blessed us with many new students and great parents. When we open the doors to start the school year 2016/17 we will have close to 110 students walk through our doors. This is a great blessing!

In late June it was announced that Mrs. Anderson was returning to Brant to teach Language Arts to our 5/6, 7/8 and grade 9 students. Mrs. Anderson will also be teaching Drama to our junior and senior high students. We added another teacher to our staff this week. Mrs. Brenda Dyck will be teaching Social Studies to our students in grade 5/6 and 7/8. When not at Brant Christian, Mrs. Dyck works with the University of Calgary helping new teachers teach Social Studies and how best to use technology in this area. It has been an answer to prayer to have Mrs. Dyck join the staff at Brant. She comes to us with a great deal of experience and a strong desire to impact the lives of young people. Mrs. Dyck lives in High River.

Tuesday, September 6 will be the first day back for students. We will celebrate the start of the new year with a pancake breakfast. Parents, grandparents and friends are encouraged to join us for the breakfast that will get underway around 9:45. This is preceded by our assembly in the gym that will get underway around 9:00. This of course is open to everyone as well.

A big event for September will be a concert put on for the students and families of Brant Christian by an amazing up and coming new musician, Joal Kamps. The concert will take place on Wednesday, September 14. The time and location will be announced next week.

As usual, we have made a few changes to our school. See if you can spot what is different on your first day. Enjoy the remaining days of summer. We will see you on Sept. 6
