New Student Information Systems

Hello and a fine autumn greeting to all our Brant families! It has been this week that has really begun to feel like fall to me.  In our neighborhood the leaves on the trees started to turn colors, and everywhere I looked on my drive to school, there were machines baling hay or bringing in the harvest. As Mrs. Massey pointed out, this is such a comforting thing to see, and especially at the end of a year where there has been talk about food insecurity, it is a tangible reminder we have so many blessings to be thankful to God for.

Some reminders:

  • If you have a desire to serve Brant, there are positions available on our board. Please email our board at brantchristianschoolboard@gmail.com to ask about the process and commitment involved.

  • I hope you are having success with your apple sales. Orders are due Wednesday Oct 12, and all money raised will go to support our building fund. Please remember to collect all funds yourself and submit a single payment to the school. For more information and forms visit here.

  • Our prayer group will start meeting every other week beginning this Monday the 19th. If you are able to join our parents in lifting the concerns of our school in prayer, we would love to have you join.

I have mentioned our transition to a new student information system. Mrs. Massey yesterday sent out an email with instructions on how to access Edsby and Edsembli. For our returning families, it is necessary for you to do the re-registration process on Edsembli. We will continue to provide support on how to best use these new tools.

Finally, as many of you know the federal government declared a statutory holiday for federal employees on Monday the 19th to honor the Queen’s funeral, but the province did not make it a mandatory day of observance. What that means is if a school were to close that day, they would need to make up the teaching time later in the year. As a result, all schools in Palliser, including Brant Christian, will be in regular classes on Monday. We will observe a moment of silence in our assembly Monday, and teachers have been encouraged to either stream parts of the funeral or the provincial ceremony at 10:00 that morning. I encourage all of us to pray for our leaders, as God’s word  instructs us to do, and especially for our new King as he takes up the role from his mother.

I have included a photo that I took on my drive to work this week. It was a great moment that captured the beauty of where our school is located. God bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and give you His peace this weekend.
