Nativity Play

Hello Parents;

I hope that if you are reading this post that you also attended the band concert on Thursday night. The students did a fantastic job in their performances. Thank you to Mr. Rodgers, Mr. Steeves and Mr. Kortius for the work they have put into their respective areas. I thought the Baptist Church was a perfect setting for our concert. The comfort and convenience of being so close to town was a huge bonus. An example of things to come once we build our new school! I appreciate the patience of the parents who had to wait around an hour before the concert started. We will have the protocol changed for next year so that you will not have to wait.

The grad bake sale went over very well. Thank you to all who supported our graduating class. We will announce a total of how much was raised later this week. And of course a great deal of gratitude to the Baptist Church for their willingness to open up their facility for us and to Maureen Miller and Pastor Scott who had to do a lot of running around at the last minute.

This coming week will be Brant Christian's Nativity play presentation. It will run on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening starting each night at 7:00 PM at Sheppard Park in High River. This year's presentation will be a basic show with the intent of growing the play next year and in the following years. Christmas is such an ideal time to reach out to our neighbours and share the gospel message with them and what better way to share than with God's gift. Next year I will need help in the following areas; a director for the actors, someone to line-up the nativity animals, a hostess for inside the Red Barn (this would include organizing the food), someone to decorate the inside of the barn and an individual to organize the entertainment each night. If I don't get volunteers I will be asking individual parents directly. Plan to come out on one of our presentation nights to see how the play is orchestrated.

We still have our school Christmas play to present to you. The performance night will be Thursday, December 15. This will take place at the school and the start time is 7:00 PM. I have had a chance to read through the script. I know that you will find this play to being a very touching presentation about the importance of giving.

Thank you,

Kevin
