Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello Families of Brant,
We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with family and friends all that the Lord has blessed us with! 

Thanks to all the parents who came to the Brant Parent Social last Sunday evening. What a great way it was to connect and reconnect with both new and returning families.

Volleyball
This past week, all our teams were embroiled in intense league play that will determine seedings for the upcoming playoffs. I got out to see the Junior A Girls play this week and was very impressed both by their skill and enthusiasm in a closely contested, hard-fought match against Westmount of Okotoks. Take note of upcoming Prairie Christian Academy tournaments with the Junior A Girls playing Oct. 13,14 and the Junior A Boys playing Oct. 27, 28. 

Apple Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who donated and collected donations for the Apple Fundraiser. Just a reminder that the student who had the highest individual fundraising total will win $50 in Brant swag while the class with the highest per capita total will win a pizza party for their class. 

Theme Day Thursday
This Thursday is Theme Day with each of the homerooms dressing in their own unique themes.  Should be fun to see the costuming creativity! 

Strings Ensemble
String ensemble led by Mrs. Dees is at lunch time in the band room. Anyone who has a little experience playing a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, string bass), please come! Or if you’re interested in learning one, Mrs. Dees can connect you with a teacher so you can join strings soon!!

Choir
Choir has started up again and takes place on Tuesday and Thursday at lunch hour with Mr. Korthuis. If you love to sing, this is where you should be!

Bamfield Field Trip Canceled
Unfortunately, as we did not have enough students register for this trip this time around, we have had to cancel the trip. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do this trip sometime in the future as it is a very valuable and memorable experience.

ADHD Group
Tracey Erikson-Driscoll and Natalie McLean from Impact Parenting in Lethbridge are offering a FREE parenting group for anyone who has kids ages 5-12 with ADHD (either diagnosed or suspected). The sessions will run on Thursday evenings, from October 19 to November 9, from 5:30 - 7:00pm at Vulcan Prairieview Elementary School. Childcare and supper will be provided, free of charge. Attached is a copy of the information sheet. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact the school office for consent and intake forms.   

Creation Ministries
Creation Ministries are coming to Brant on Friday, Nov 17th.  There will be three separate age-specific presentations with Grades 1-4 at 9:15, Grades 5-8 at 10:15 and Grades 9-12 at 12:30.  Parents and community members are invited to attend.
