First Week Wrap-up

Our first week is now over and I think that we are slowly getting into our routines. I am looking forward to a very exciting year at Brant. I believe the Lord has some very special plans in store for Brant Christian School. I am very impressed with the students I have taught this week. I congratulate you as parents on the work you are doing to raise your children to be respectful and hard working. The verse of the day that is in our hallway is from Proverbs 22:1 "A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold."

We held our first fire drill of the year. All students were out of the building in just over 1 minute. Students and staff performed their duties to perfection. We will be practicing this drill and our lock down procedure throughout the year.

Students in grade 10 and 11 are now doing on-line learning through Palliser Beyond Boarders instead of Alberta Distance Learning. Being a new program it has had some glitches which are being quickly resolved. I appreciate the patience of both the students and the staff as delays can be frustrating. I am confident though the staff at Palliser will have the program in full gear come Monday.

Our cross-country team which is made up of 20 athletes met today at lunch for our first practice. We will continue to practice on Monday's and Wednesday's until the competition which will be held on September 22 at Southern Alberta Bible Camp.

I want to wish each of you a very relaxing weekend. I am looking forward to next week and getting to know more students.
