Elementary Concert

Hello Parents;

The main event for the upcoming week will be the Elementary concert and play that will be held on Thursday, December 14 at Brant Christian School. Everything gets underway at 7:00 PM. I am looking forward to seeing the gymnasium filled to capacity. We will have enough chairs for everyone. If you are able to bring some Christmas baking to the concert please contact Cathy and let her know. We will be serving hot chocolate and hot apple cider after the performance. Even if you do not have children in the elementary grades, please join us anyway. What an excellent time of year to spend with friends!

On Wednesday of last week we celebrated the Christmas season listening to our two bands and choir perform at the High River Baptist Church. I was very surprised by the large attendance. Our students performed very well and it was an enjoyable time afterward to socialize with the various Brant Christian families. Thank you to Brian Rodgers our band instructor and to Tim Korthuis our choir director.

Our society board will host their first meeting with our new members on Tuesday of this week at the Christian Reformed Church in High River. Thank you to all the parents who serve in the capacity of board members. For our school to remain vibrant, all parents must be engaged and active in the events Brant Christian. Without your full commitment our school will not be a successful place.

Basketball for our junior high girls and boys starts up again on Wednesday of this week. Practices will take place at the Aldersyde Field House from 4:30 - 6:00 PM. We are still looking for a coach for our grade 5/6 girls team. Please contact the school if you would like to volunteer to have any questions.

Please continue to pray for Brant and God's blessing. We are quickly approaching our mission trip deadline of January 31. Our students are willing to do odd jobs in exchange for a donation that will go towards the cost of the homes they plan to build or you can make a donation without any work being done. The students have the cost of one home covered and are $4000 away from reaching their goal for a second home. If you would like to donate, please contact the school. If you would like more information please contact the school and ask to speak with Kevin Bailey.

Thank you,

Kevin

On the Worst Day of Christmas Elementary Production - Dec 14/2017

Wow, our students did a fabulous job presenting On the First Worst Day of Christmas!  Thank you to Miss Wolfe, our director, to all the staff and students behind the scenes and to each actor and actress who worked so hard!

Thank you to Mrs. Niemans, Mrs. Blake and Mrs. Dyck and their troupes of singers for adding music to the evening as well!  And, thank you to Mrs. Brunning and the worship team for ending the night with two beautiful worship songs!

We had such a full audience of parents, grandparents and special guests.  Thank you for your support of BCS in this, and so many, ways!

If you weren't in the Christmas spirit before this, you most certainly are now!  What a wonderful night!

Dec 4-8 Fun!

What a great week at BCS!

Our Grade 5/6 and 7-12 Bands (with conductor Mr. Rodgers) and our Choir (directed by Mr. Korthuis) performed at a lovely concert on Dec 6.  An excellent evening of music!

The Christmas spirit is alive and well at BCS!  Students helped set up the Christmas tree in the main foyer! How festive!

Our High School students spent some time volunteering at Samaritan's Purse on December 7.  What a joy to serve in this way!

We ended the week with a riotous School Council event - pie-throwing! Students paid money to smear their student council reps; even Pastor Jason from the High River Baptist Church participated in the fun!  The event raised around $180!  Way to go!
