Brant Christian is Going to Provincials

Hello Parents;

The excitement around Brant this week will be that our senior boys volleyball team will be playing in the provincial championship tournament. 10 of the province's best volleyball teams will meet to determine this year's 1A Boys champion. This is the first team that has represented Brant Christian at a provincial tournament and we are very proud of our athletes and their coaches. The team will leave Wednesday after school. Our prayers and best wishes go with them. To be such a small school and to be able to compete at this level is  blessing from God. We know that our students will be excellent ambassadors at the tournament.

Last Thursday was our Annual General Meeting. Thank you to all parents who were able to attend. The meeting was informative and was over by 8:30. We are grateful to our society board for all the work they do in making our school run so efficiently. One new board member was elected. He is Joe Beetge. He and his wife Marli have two daughters attending Brant and they make their home in Okotoks. Thank you Joe for your willingness to be part of the Brant Christian School society board.

If your children have been a bit restless this weekend, it could be a result of report cards coming home on Monday night. Our first parent/teacher interviews will take place on Wednesday and Thursday after school. This year you can book your appointment on line. If you have not booked your appointments, please contact Cathy as soon as possible. Being the first report card of the school year we would like to see all families in attendance.

Looking a little further ahead; our band and choir performance will take place on Thursday, November 29 starting at 7:00 PM at the High River Baptist Church. This concert involves students in grade 5 - 12. The younger students will be performing at Brant Christian later in December.

Our Monday assemblies this month have focused on the majesty of God. Each month this year, we will take a closer look at a different attribute of God. For November we are trying to get our students to catch a glimpse of what an amazing God we serve. Whether it is looking at God's omnipotence or the beauty in his creation; is majesty is always on display.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
