Auction Donations and Volunteers Needed!

Hello Families of Brant,

Here we go announcing another week of what happened and what’s coming up at Brant Christian School!

Important School Cash Information
The company (KEV) which provides our school cash system has recently set Palliser schools up on their "auto-enroll" system for accounts. Unfortunately this was sent to Emergency Contacts for students. Please note that KEV has disabled the "auto-enroll" function. This means that links will not work for any emails that have already gone out and so they suggest that parents do not use those links.  However, they cannot reverse anyone who has subscribed in the last few days, as they have no way of knowing which subscribers would be valid.  If there are subscribers that parents want to be removed (so any of your emergency contacts who may have subscribed) please let Mrs. Massey know and Palliser will ask to have them removed.  We greatly apologize for all the confusion this has caused. Palliser nor Brant Christian School were not advised that the function was set up to create users for emergency contacts. 

Creation Ministries 
Creation Ministries are coming to Brant on Friday, Nov 17th.  There will be three separate age-specific presentations with Grades 1-4 at 9:15, Grades 5-8 at 10:15 and Grades 9-12 at 12:30.  Parents and community members are invited to attend.   

Apple Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who donated and collected donations for the Apple Fundraiser. Congratulations to Tiana F for having the highest individual fundraising total. Tiana wins $50 in Brant swag while the Grade 1-2 class gets the pizza party for having the highest per capita total. Those who purchased apples can pick them up between 10am - 12pm on Wednesday, October 18 at the High River Baptist Church. 

Free and Free (Grade 5 and 6s)  
The High River Rec Centre (Snodgrass) is offering a free yearly pass for Grade 5s and individual free passes for Grade 6s. Be sure to drop by the rec centre and get your FREE pass (Grade 5s) and FREE individual passes (Grade 6s) 

Cross Country
Congratulations to our cross country team who participated in the South Zone Championships in Pincher Creek.  There were over a hundred competitors in each division and Quinn F, Karter F, Tim A and Kayla M all finished in the top third tier of their respective divisions. Well done! A special thank you to Miss Cook for braving the chilly “breezes” of Southern Alberta while cheering on our Brant competitors. 

Volleyball
While our Girls Triple Ball team gets set to begin their season this week, our girls and boys senior and junior varsity teams are competing in their power pools to determine rankings moving into the playoffs. Our Junior A girls are off to Three Hills to play in the Prairie Christian Academy tournament today and tomorrow (Oct. 13 and 14) while our senior boys and girls go down to Pincher Creek next week for a tournament (Oct. 20, 21) and JV Boys look forward to a tournament at Immanuel Christian School in Lethbridge the following weekend.  

Auction
Just a reminder to bring in donations items for the auction.  If you don’t have an item to give, feel free to ask one of the local retailers or businesses you frequent to donate. Businesses are often very generous in their support of Brant Christian. 

Also, if you have grade 7 -12 students in your household who are free on the day of the auction (Sat. Nov. 4), encourage them to volunteer either as babysitters or at the auction itself.  Please sign up to help at volunteersignup.org/3JL38.

ADHD Group
Tracey Erikson-Driscoll and Natalie McLean from Impact Parenting in Lethbridge are offering a FREE parenting group for anyone who has kids ages 5-12 with ADHD (either diagnosed or suspected). 

The sessions will run on Thursday evenings, from October 19 to November 9, from 5:30 - 7:00pm at Vulcan Prairieview Elementary School. Childcare and supper will be provided, free of charge.  A consent form and information page are both attached to this email. Class Photos from Lifetouch
Lifetouch has changed their policy for class photos.  This year, anyone who purchases an individual school photo package that includes a class photo will NOT have to pay any extra for a class group photo.  Families who do not wish to order an individual photo package but would like a class photo, will not have to purchase a class group photo for $9.99.  Full information on how to buy the class group photo individually will be available on proof sheets which will come home from school once delivered and online at mylifetouch.ca.
