Upcoming events

Hello Parents;

Maybe I am being overly optimistic but I think that I am already seeing longer daylight hours! The provincial diploma exams will continue this coming week and our grade 9 students will begin writing their achievement tests soon. The big news this week is the upcoming spring trip to Ottawa. We have had 11 of our high school students indicate an interest in going. I will be meeting with parents shortly and going over details with them. The dates for travel are May 10 - 16. It is the desire of the school to provide a major field trip each year for our high school students with a focus on either education, ministry or adventure. Next year's trip will be a mission oriented trip in association with Youth With A Mission. The plan is to go to Mexico to build a home for a needy family.

Continuing with field trips, students in grades 5 - 12 will be going to the Rosebud Theatre on March 12 to take in a matinee performance of Treasure Island. The cost for the trip is $10. This includes the play, transportation and a lunch. Permission forms will be coming out in February.

In our continuing efforts to promote Brant Christian School, we will be holding information meetings in High River at the Full Gospel Church at 7:00 PM on Feb. 3 and in Okotoks on Feb. 4 at 7:00 at the Alliance Church. Please let your friends know about these meetings and plan to attend yourself. Phil Hills, the Western Canadian Director of the Association of Christian Schools International will be speaking about the importance of Christian Education.

With the start of the second semester on Feb. 2, we will begin Christian Education classes for our grade 11 and 12 students. Starting in September of next year each of our high school grades will have a Christian Education class geared towards their age group. Additional information will be forthcoming in future blogs.

As always, please contact me if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
