Waterton Lake Science Trip

Hello Parents;

On Monday our grade 5/6 class will be travelling to Waterton Lake for a 3 day field trip. The excursion will be lead by Mr. Kroeker and Miss Tung and will allow the students the opportunity to learn more about the unique nature found in our mountains and especially in the area of Waterton Lake. This is a biannual trip for our school and one that the students enjoy immensely. We look forward to hearing their stories of discovery and our prayer will be for safety and fun while they are away from school.

On Tuesday of this week, students in grades 7 - 12 will be participating in a softball tournament held in Carmangay and Barons. This is a fantastic tournament for our students and is put on by the Barons School for the students in and around the Palliser School District. We will leave from Brant that day by 8:30 AM and return by 3:30 PM.

This past Saturday Brant Christian celebrated the 14th annual golf tournament that has been organized every year by Jason Doerksen, Bob Hardcastle and Ray Kooistra. The proceeds from the tournament have always gone back to the school to purchase items that would normally be charged back to the parents. If you have been a participant, sponsor or both of this tournament, thank you for your support. With next year being the 15th year we would like to make it a bit more special by making it the largest tournament since it's inception. Please keep this golf tournament in your plans for next year. It will occur in early June. Plan now to come out and play or sponsor a hole or help out in some way but just get involved.

Attention to all parents who have children going into grade 5 next year or are new to the school and want to have their child involved in our band program. There will be an instrument rental evening this week on Thursday. The meeting will be held at the High River Baptist Church at 7 PM. This will give you the opportunity to meet the representative from Long and McQuade regarding the details of renting an instrument for your child. Our band instructor, Brian Rodgers will also be in attendance.

As mentioned last week, Mrs. Dyck will not be returning next year. As a result, we are searching for a new teacher to take over her duties of LA and Social Studies for students in grades 7 - 10. If you know of any Christian teachers who would be interested, they need to go to the Palliser website to get more details on how to apply for this position.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
