Brant Christian School Auction

Hello Parents;

As the heading reads, this is the week of the auction. A group of volunteers have been working hard for several months to get ready for this year's auction which will take place on Saturday, November 4 at the Memorial Center in High River. This is the 21st year of our fund raising auction. You can still purchase tickets, which cost $50, by calling the school. This is also an excellent opportunity to bring your neighbours, friends, relatives along with you and introduce them to what Brant Christian School is all about. The Highwood Memorial Center is located at 128 - 5th Ave. W in High River. The doors will open at 5:00 with the meal starting at 6:00 and a live auction to follow. I hope to see you there.

The second important November date is for our annual general meeting for the Brant Christian School Society. This will take place on Thursday, November 16 at the Full Gospel Church in High River starting at 7:00 PM. The financial report will be given, new board members will be elected and the future plans for Brant Christian will be discussed. It is very important that at least one parent be in attendance at the meeting.

November is the month where the volleyball season comes to a close. Our junior high girls and boys volleyball team will wrap up their program this coming week. The boys will be in Pincher Creek for Friday and Saturday and our girls will be participating in their zone tournament which is being held in Burdett. (east of Taber) We wish both our teams the best of luck and pray for their safety in travelling to and from their games. A big thank you to Mr. Doerksen, the boys coach and Mr. Fisk, the girls coach, for giving of their time over the past 2 months. We appreciate their commitment to the school and the athletes under their direction and care.

Our senior high boys team played in a tournament at Immanuel Christian School in Lethbridge on Friday and Saturday. I would love to say that we came in first, but we didn't. Some day that will happen! What did occur was that our players were excellent ambassadors for our school. Our team jerseys have Brant Christian written across the front. We want the other teams and the audience to know where we are from and who we play for. In every tournament I am usually asked by 4 or 5 different people who we are, where we are from and they have questions about our school. Our students are always the best selling feature of our school.

First term report cards will be out on Monday, November 20 and parent/teacher meetings will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, November 23, 24. Cathy will send out an announcement when you can book your time for appointments.

Our Remembrance Day chapel will take place on Thursday, November 9 starting at 2:15 PM. If you can get away from work, please plan to join us that day.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey

Edmonton Trip

A bunch of our grade 7-12 students and a few chaperones headed to Edmonton over the weekend, October 27 and 28.  They spent time at the Provincial Legislature buildings, the Edmonton Science Centre and West Edmonton Mall! A whirlwind trip, but lots of fun!
