Student Involvement

Hello Parents;

Our first week back was a long and busy time for our students. The week concluded with our drama presentation of "Two Girls on a Couch." If you were unable to attend, you missed a very good performance by our students. Thank you to Miss Wolfe for all the extra work she puts into making these presentations a success. The other Brant staff are actively involved as well often running sound equipment, setting up lighting or working back stage. The presentation was a fun way to end the week.

Our junior high badminton players finished their season by participating in a zone tournament in Lethbridge. Unfortunately none qualified for a medal but all of them performed well and we appreciate their effort and how well they represented our school. We are proud of them. Track and Field now takes center stage with our high school students competing on May 23 in Picture Butte, our junior highs are off to Vulcan on May 28 and our elementary students will be in Vulcan on June 4.

The big event forĀ  May is that 18 of our high school students will be off to Ottawa to spend a week at Trinity Western University's Laurentian Leadership Training facility in our nation's capital. They will spend the week touring Ottawa and learning how our political system works. They leave on Monday, May 20 and return on May 25. Thank you Mrs. Wasik, Mr. Chisholm and Joe Johal (alumnus) for acting as chaperones. Our next extended high school field trip will take place in January 2020 when our students will head to Mexico to build homes for needy families.

Continue to pray for Mrs. Blake. She has been suffering on-going concussion symptoms since her fall on March 20. She is continuing to improve but has not reached the point where she can return to teaching. We are grateful that Mrs. Larsen-Wall has been able to fill in for Mrs. Blake during her absence.

Our society board continues to make progress in getting a location for Brant Christian and finalizing details on a new building. This can be a long process and will always have road blocks pop up from time to time. Pray for God's wisdom for them as they put in many long hours working through all the details.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
