Election Time

Hello Parents;

The heading has nothing to do with provincial or federal politics. This past week was our student council election. We now have a complete council in place and they will start planning activities for the students at Brant. Students in grades 3 to 8 selected classroom representatives. Students in grades 9 - 12 were running for the positions of President and Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

Our junior high volleyball teams started their season on Thursday with both teams getting off to a good start. They played teams from Senator Riley. We have home school students playing on all of our teams this year. It is great to have them out. Their participation helps our program and our structure allows these students to play at a level that would normally not be available to them. We welcome any new students to join us should any of you have friends who are home schooling their children and are looking for a sports program for their children. We would also welcome students who would like to play in a band or sing in a choir.

On Monday, I will be taking 33 of our students to Southern Alberta Bible Camp to compete in a cross country running event. These students will leave from Brant Christian and will be gone for the day returning in time to catch their bus ride home.

One of our school families, the Hudson's, have been hit with numerous health issues over this past year. The most serious has been with the father, John, who lost part of his leg this summer due to diabetes complications. He has returned to the hospital this past weekend for further surgery. Please keep the Hudson family in your prayers. If you would like to prepare a meal for them please contact the school and we will make arrangements to get the meal to them.

It has been a good start to the school year. We are blessed to have so many highly qualified and dedicated Christian teachers. They are providing an excellent education to your children. Please keep Brant Christian in prayer.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
