Travel Time
Hello Parents;
After months of planning, prayer and anticipation the time has arrived for our high school students to leave on their mission trip to Tijuana. They will depart on Wednesday, January 31 and return on February 7. Again, thank you to everyone who had a part in making this trip possible. From those who have prayed and to those who gave so generously, thank you. I am looking forward to sharing stories with you on how the lives of our students have been changed because of this trip. If you would like to follow the group on a daily basis go this site; muybruenobcs.blogspot.ca There will be regular postings on this site keeping everyone up to date with stories and photos. You will not be able to communicate back to the group but you will be able to see what is happening to them.
Diploma exams continue this Monday and Tuesday and then our first semester is over. There is no school on Wednesday as this is a planning day for teachers. Classes for the second semester get underway on Thursday. Chapel this week will be Tuesday morning. It starts at 9:15 AM with Mrs. Brunning talking to our elementary students, joint chapel is at 10:15. Please come out and join us for our worship time.
Our junior high boys and girls basketball teams played on Wednesday and both teams were victorious. Our girls played in Milo while the boys were in Arrowwood. Thank you again to our volunteer coaches Shain Chisholm and Carlita Harbidge. Our curling teams were in competition on Wednesday in Vulcan. From what coaches Miss Wolfe and Mr. Doerksen are saying the teams are developing an appreciation for the skill needed to be successful in this sport.
There is an upcoming event in Calgary for parents of Christian schools in the city and the surrounding area. The event is called, "Power in Unity." It is an opportunity to get together with other Christian school parents for a time of worship and prayer. To lift up our schools before God and seek his direction. Please make plans to attend this very important event. It will take place at 6:45 PM on March 12 at Southside Victory Church 6402 1A St. SW Calgary.
