Work day at Brant Christian

Hello Parents;

This Friday, April 15, will be a work day at Brant. There are many reasons to celebrate living in the country and there are also some drawbacks. One of these is the number of gopher holes that exist in our playing field. We plan to fill the holes in on Friday and need as many volunteers as possible. We plan to get underway at 9:00 AM and will provide lunch for all who come out. If you are able to come out for an hour or for all day, please let Cathy know. You will need to bring a shovel and a pail with you. (kind of like going to the beach!) If you can bring a wheelbarrow that would be even better.

This year's school play, "The Friendly Giant," has now chosen its cast members and rehearsals will start soon. The presentation dates are May 18 (matinee) and May 19 evening performance. Plan now to attend.

Badminton is on the minds of many of our athletes at this point. Our high school students practice on Wednesdays and our junior high team on Tuesdays. April 22 is the first tournament for the high school team while our junior high team will compete on April 27.

The last day to order hanging baskets is this Wednesday. If you haven't placed your order yet, contact Cathy for more information. Our high school students and grade 8's are using this as a way to earn funds for their class trip. The cost of the baskets is $35.

We have had a significant increase in the number of new parents and students who have been visiting Brant Christian looking for a school to call home. We are excited by this and are looking forward to welcoming many new students to our school come September. If you have friends, relatives, neighbours who are thinking about sending their children to Brant, please encourage them to get in touch with the school. We can arrange a tour and even have their children spend a day at Brant.

Next week will be a busy one at school. On Wednesday our band students will be performing at Senator Riley in High River. On Thursday our grade 9 students will be at the Foothills Hospital taking part in the PARTY program while our grade 8, 10 - 12 students will be taking part in a student conference on leadership at Heritage Christian School.

Please continue to pray for our school, staff and society board.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
