Reliving Mexico Mission Trip Memories

For the 16 students who went to Mexico January 27-February 3, life won't be the same.  Eyes have been opened, hearts have been changed.  In case you missed the special chapel held on February 10, at the bottom of this post is the slideshow presentation that was shown.  It gives a great overview of the trip and what God accomplished through this amazing group of students.  Below are also some short first-hand testimonials about the trip and what impacted these students the most!  Thank you to everyone who prayed for this endeavour and who supported the group financially and spiritually.

"The visit to the elderly home impacted me the most because it was hard to see all those people who had been essentially left there by their relatives. I found it sad but I was happy that I was able to pray with these people and bring a little joy into their lives. I had a really great time with Youth with a Mission in Tijuana Mexico and would gladly go there again."  – Brayton W.

"Seeing all of the people at the soup kitchen impacted me most on our Mexico trip. We were only there for 2 hours, but we served 1200 people. There were a lot of families with little kids who came in. It was sad to see, because they were carrying everything they had. They had no homes and couldn’t afford food. They were so grateful for the food that we were able to give them. Even though they had so little, they were still so happy."  –Sierra N.

"WHAT IMPACTED ME THE MOST WAS THE VISIT TO THE ORPHANAGE AND SEEING THE TOUGH CONDITIONS THAT THE CHILDREN ARE LIVING IN.  IT WAS GOOD TO BE ABLE TO PLAY SOCCER WITH THE BOYS AND GIVE THEM PIGGY BACK RIDES.  I ALSO ENJOYED THE HOUSE BUILD AND SEEING THE FAMILY'S REACTION TO BEING ABLE TO HAVE A LIVABLE SPACE." – Kyle N.

"The visit to the elderly home was the thing that impacted me that most. Seeing all the seniors there that were most likely unwanted by their families or had been taken off the street was difficult and it really made me grateful for what I have. It was humbling to see how some of them were just so thankful for someone to talk to and to spend time with them." –Melina R.
