Thank you, moms!

A warm greeting to all our fantastic families! Now that we are in May, the events are coming fast and furious! This week we had the start of our track and field practices, the 7/8 class headed to Camp Little Red for 3 days and our highway cleanup is taking place on Saturday. And things only get busier from here on out! Please watch for emails from Mrs. Massey or myself about the various events that are taking place either this month or in June. Already the June calendar has several things happening each week, almost every day in some weeks.

A few reminders about what is coming up:

  • Track meets - the senior and junior track meets are coming up fast, May 16th (Coalhurst) for the seniors and May 24 in Vulcan for the juniors

  • Golf tournament registrations have been sent out. If you did not receive one and are interested in attending, use this link to sign up

  • The first round of PATs (provincial achievement tests) in Language Arts for our 9s and 6s are happening May 16 (9s) and 18 (6s)

With the highway clean up happening this weekend, it is time to start thinking about our missions trip in January. An email went out to families who would be interested in participating this past week. If you did not receive this, please check with Mrs. Massey. I originally made an error when compiling a timeline for fees and paperwork, based on a misunderstanding of when the trip was done in the past. A revised schedule was sent out, based on the travel date of January 30th. Again, if you did not receive the update, let us know and we will get it to you.

With the upcoming field trips, sports day and track meets, there will be a number of opportunities for volunteers. I am very excited that we can have so many families helping with the different activities and look forward to seeing more parents around the school. If you are here, please be sure to say hello.

Finally, I want to take a moment to say a special blessing to all our mothers this weekend. We know all that you do for your children, whether it is the regular things like getting them to school and back, helping them with their work and making sure they have all that they need every day, or even the extra things like running out forgotten lunches and instruments. But we also know that there is so much more you are doing behind the scenes which may never be known, even by your children. We are grateful for the ways you build into your family and support what is happening at our school. Have a blessed Mother’s Day.
