Celebrating Volleyball at BCS!

Such a successful volleyball season so far!  We are so proud of our Eagles!

On October 16, our grade 5/6 class was able to head to Vulcan for a one day volleyball tournament against half a dozen other area schools!  Not only was it an exciting outing, it gave our up-and-coming students the taste of sports opportunities to come!

Our junior volleyball team, coached by Jason Doerksen, consists of both boys and girls and they have enjoyed many opportunities to play so far!  (Including an exciting give-it-your-all game against the parents on November 16!)  A Junior Girls team branched off and was able to participate in the Zones tournament in Bow Island on November 6 and 7, placing 8th overall!  Way to go!  This team will compete in one final day-tournament in Barons/Carmangay on Thursday, November 26.  The more BCS fans in the crowd, the better!  Please come on out to cheer them on!

For the first time ever, a Senior Boys team was formed and proved their skills and teamwork by placing 4th overall at Zones in Lethbridge this past weekend.  Coached by Kevin Bailey and Scott Fisk, this team not only played extremely well, they represented BCS in such a splendid way! What an EXCITING end to a great first season! We are so proud and look forward to more exciting volleyball from our Senior Boys next year!

It is a real pleasure to watch our students develop skills and give them the opportunity to go out and compete. We are very proud of the way they represent BCS in leadership, sportsmanship and performance, both on and off the court!

Go Eagles!
