He is RISEN!
He is risen! He is risen indeed!
This greeting, based on Luke 24:34 is one that has been used for centuries across many Christian traditions (sometimes called the Paschal Greeting) and conveys the core of our hope as followers of Jesus. That He has risen means death is defeated, our sins are forgiven and we have the hope of eternal life in the presence of our God. Which is why we recognize this coming weekend as the heart of the year, a holiday (holy-day) unlike any other. He is risen indeed!
This was an exciting week with all kinds of things happening. Among other things, a lobster (Freddie) visited the 3/4s for their animal unit, our English 20 class performed a reader's theatre of their favorite Macbeth scenes, and our badminton teams headed off to Lethbridge or Fort Macleod for zone playoffs. Through all of the things that happened this past week, we have much to be grateful for, not least because we have the next week off. The school and office will be closed all next week, returning on Monday, April 25th. A few reminders:

Field trip forms for grades 5/6 and 7/8 to go see Fiddler on the Roof on April 27 need to be returned before students can go. If you have not done so, please either send them in on the 25th or email it to their homeroom teacher

Highway clean up is happening on Saturday, May 7th. Please watch for further details to come after the break.
