Upcoming events

Hello Parents;

With last week being so short and with little to report, I thought it would be best to remind you of some important upcoming events.

On Tuesday of this week, 10 of our students along with Marlyn Brunning and Chrissie Nauta will be attending a city wide conference called WE DAY. This takes place in the Saddledome and will be filled with students who through their volunteer efforts have made a difference in their communities. For our students, they are being recognized for their willingness to travel to Mexico to build a home for a needy family.

I am very proud of our athletic's program and how our students are participating in this aspect of education. Mr. Doerksen has 16 junior high students out for his team and our high school now has a boys' team that will be going to the zone tournament in Lethbridge on Nov. 12 - 14. The senior high team plays at Calgary Christian tomorrow evening and our junior high team is at home on Wednesday.

We will be celebrating our Remembrance Day ceremony on Nov. 4 starting at 2:30. All parents are welcome to attend and we encourage you to join us as we remind the students of the price that so many have paid so that we have the freedom that we do.

The annual Brant Christian School silent auction will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14 starting at 4:30. You can order your tickets by calling Cathy at the school. If you are able to donate an item for the silent auction, that would be appreciated. Please contact Cathy for this as well. The band room and Science lab will be receiving some of the benefits from this year's auction. There will also be opportunity to help our high school students raise funds for the house they are building in Mexico. The 18 students need to raise $10,200 before they leave for Tijuana in late January.

A garage sale will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Full Gospel Church in High River. All proceeds will be going to the cost of the house that will be built on the high school mission trip. If you have good, quality items at your place that you would like to donate please contact the school. Set Nov. 21 aside to make sure that you come down to the church and support our students.

First term report cards will be going home on Nov. 20 with parent/teacher interviews taking place the following week. More details on all of these events will be made available as we get closer to the respective dates.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
