Reading Challenge Progress

Hello to all our wonderful families!

It was so great to have a four day week and to see all the students again. I really enjoy spending time talking with the different classes, and getting to know the students more personally. I was able to take time to read Something from Nothing with the 1/2 class this week, which was very special.

Volleyball has wrapped up this week with some great learning experiences and successes for our teams. Though we did not take many top spots, having so many teams qualify for zones and play such competitive games, especially considering how little opportunity they had to play sports last year, is a tremendous accomplishment.

It has been really exciting to see the numbers come in for our reading challenge. I am hearing that classes are putting up hundreds of minutes of reading already! I will be handing out special pencils and stickers next week for those individuals who have surpassed a day and even a week’s worth of reading time. We have begun to add the cars which will track their progress on our bulletin board (see the attached photo).

A few reminders:

  • Report cards come home Monday, which means Parent-teacher interviews are happening Wednesday and Thursday. If you have not booked yet, go to https://brantchristianschool.schoolappointments.com/ school access code 5492.

  • Interviews on Thursday also means that we have early dismissal at 2pm. Students travelling by bus will be at their stop an hour and a half earlier than usual.

  • Mrs. Nauta has set times and dates for the Christmas concerts. Please contact her about your child’s availability. We will have information about tickets early next week.

  • Please remember that if you are travelling through the town of Brant, the posted speed limit is 30 kph. Let’s be good neighbors by driving at the limit past their homes. Thank you!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and encourage you to come see me in person when you come for your interview next week. God bless!

Quinn Barreth, Principal
