Graduation 2015

The highlight of this past week was of course the graduation ceremonies for our 4 grads; Ruth-Anne Klassen, Brooklyn VanHell, Aaron Wasik and Alexandra Woodley. On Thursday afternoon we held a special grad chapel where each of our grade levels got to present something special to our grade 12 students. It was a very special blessing of community which is something very unique to Brant. On Friday evening was a more formal affair for family and friends. Former principal Cory Brown (now Treyvalen) spoke to the grads followed by Rob Cowie. Alexandra Woodley was this year's valedictorian and she brought a message to the audience. Gord VanHell responded on behalf of the parents. Representing Palliser was Associate Superintendent, Stan Hielema who opened the program in prayer and Trustee Robert Strauss presented the Valedictorian plaque to Alexandra. A special blessing occurred for each of our student in what has now become known as "between the J's". Mr. Booker and Mr. Doerksen recall events and highlight the students qualities. A big thank you to Christine Wasik and Cathy Massey for all the work they did to put the graduation ceremonies together.

The annual Brant Christian School Golf Tournament was held on Saturday in Nanton. It was a beautiful day to play golf and everyone who attended had a fantastic time. Thank you to Jason Doerksen, Bob Hardcastle and Ray Kooistra for putting the tournament together. This is a fund raising event for our school. Thank you as well to all of our sponsors and their generousity in making the tournament a success.

The big news for this coming week is the track meet in Vulcan on Tuesday. This will involve our students in grades 1 - 6. All students in these classes will be going. Please remember to send your child with a hat, water bottle and lunch. It will be a fun day. We leave the school by bus at 8:30 and will return to Brant by 3:30.

The Okotoks parade will take place on Saturday, June 20. We would like to enter our school float in the parade if we can find a driver and a truck to tow our float. If you are available that day and can help us please contact the school.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
