Busy Weekend

Hello Parents;

Having completed 3 weeks of school, we are now into our routines and things are running quite smoothly. Our students have been very compliant with our new protocols and their efforts are appreciated. I am also thankful to all the parents who are taking the extra precautions with their children and monitoring their health daily. We are hoping that we will be able to start practicing with our volleyball teams soon. They are with these friends all day, extending their time for a volleyball practice would be a safe event. Actually playing against another team could still be delayed until later in the fall.

Our chapel time with Mrs. Brunning got underway this past week in a new format. Mrs. Brunning held 3 separate chapel times to accommodate Covid requirements. Students in grade 5 - 8 came in on Monday morning, our high school student had chapel on Monday afternoon with our youngest grades in chapel on Wednesday. The new format worked well although the restriction on singing took away from some of the usual excitement.

This past weekend has been a busy time for the staff at Brant Christian. Saturday morning started off with many parents and students out walking the ditches in participation of the Alberta Clean Highways program. This year we were responsible for two sections of roadway. A 13 km section north of Brant on Hwy 23 and a 15 km section on Hwy 24 east of Calgary. The money raised will go towards the building of a house in Mexico on our next mission trip to Tijuana in 2022.

In the afternoon, Brant Christian hosted their annual golf tournament in Nanton. Thank you to Jason and Mandie Doerksen for the work they put into organizing this event. We had close to 50 golfers come out to enjoy a round of golf on a very nice afternoon. Thank you as well to all who came out to golf. Your ongoing support of our school is very much appreciated. We hope to see you in early June when we will host the next golf tournament in it's official format.

For those who continue to pray for Brant Christian School, thank you. Your faithfulness is what keeps our school strong and focused on raising up future Christian leaders.
