Exciting News
Hello Parents;
We do have exciting news to share from Brant Christian School. Our society board met on Tuesday evening and confirmed that starting in September of 2015 we will have a band program and a full music program for grades 1 - 4. Our band instructor will be Danielle Fisk, the wife of Pastor Scott Fisk of the High River Baptist Church. Prior to moving to High River, Danielle was an accomplished band instructor in British Columbia. The band program will be for students from grade 5 -12 and the music program for our younger grades. Mrs. Fisk will be coming to Brant in the coming weeks to be introduced to the students and to provide information and answer questions.
We will start to enrich our Art program as well with Miss Wolfe being given more time to work in this area. The two portables that sit to the east of our school will have heat and electricity added this Spring, the buildings will be modernized with one being designated as the band room and the other will become a Science lab or turned into an Art studio.
As Brant continues to grow, our society board is committed to adding more programs to enrich the educational experience of your children. This spring we have a high school trip going to Ottawa for a week and next January we will be taking the high school students to Tijuana Mexico to build a house for a needy family and to do children's ministry with some of the local churches. We will also have a senior high boys volleyball team for the first time in the history of Brant and will continue to increase the athletic activities available to our junior high students.
The family ski day that was held yesterday at Nakiska was a very enjoyable time. It was good to see so many parents out with their children. If you were not able to attend this event hopefully you will be able to next year. The ski day is generally held in early February.
This is the time of year when parents start to look at schooling for their children for September. If you have friends that would appreciate having their children in a Christian school please have them contact the school so that we can arrange a tour. Our best advertising is still word of mouth and your recommendation goes a long ways in influencing parents in their decisions.
Our next parent/teacher meetings will be March 11 and 12. The second term report cards will be going home on March 19. Cathy will be in touch with you later in February to book your appointments. Also on March 12 will be the trip to Rosebud Theatre for our grade 5 -12 students.
